Managing Investments

Managing Investments is one of the most tedious things in life.. Multiple Shares.. Multiple Mutual Funds.. Multiple Insurance Policies.. And lot more....

It is one of the most easiest to manage in the first year of investments as we all know how we well planned our investments and safe guarded every document related to it..First year... everyone knows where the money is invested.. What is its worth.. When its getting matured.. Next year.. You know what you did last year.. So.. You go ahead and make additional purchases and new funds.. Then again next year...But Imagine.. Year on Year investments...What would happen. By now we would have accumulated a lot of Statements which we would have received from the fund houses....Statements bundled.. Confusion.. When.. What.. Where... We might change our Mobile numbers.. We stop getting alerts on it.. We might change addresses.. We stop getting certain statements where we have not updated.. We change Banks if completely get dissatisfied..Confusion.. Its not me who is creating it.. Its the times which could be more than my limitations..

We often tend to forget what is invested where .. when our funds are getting matured .. when the funds are out of their lock-in period.. and when our funds are performing better and the most important.. when our funds are performing worser and its time to exit...Its all the mundane problems what almost every investor comes across when poorly managed..

There are many ways to manage our investments... Its definitely an extra cumulative effort every-time but ultimately pays off as and when required.

1. Centrally Dealing and Monitoring funds would be the best option is what I feel.. So.. Its at the top.. Its better to have one online account to purchase all the different flavors of funds though one place. Buying and selling of funds is all at one place and it can happen whenever we want ...Some examples for the same would include like Hdfc, Sharekhan, Indiainfoline, Icici etc..

2. If not having an online process as above, Its better to deal with a single broker of choice who can always do a similar model like above and give u access.

3. If interested in applying directly to different Fund-houses online/offline , Its a bit tedious process as documentation proofs are requirred for each and every fund house when u get into for the first time. Though the funds are scattered in different places, It would be wise to make up an online portfolio in some websites which can help u find and monitor anytime of its worth and performance. Examples includes like Moneycontrol portfolio manager , Valueresearchonline etc..

There goes a lot more thoughts when we get into the managing investments of what we have. Its really not possible to cover up in one single blog.. so.. again.. it would be continued in my subsequent blogs...

Happy Investing!!!!

The Era Of E-Mails

The Era of sending personal mails is almost instinct. We all log in to multiple social networking sites and IM's. Saying Hi in these SNS(Social networking sites) is in vogue than drafting a longer mails and taking the pain of keeping someone in the address-field and thinking twice on what to keep in the subject lines...

This is the new beginning of the SNS ... Pals wants their other Pals to know we are in touch.. And that automatically drifts others to make use of these services more.. its the times of facebook.. myspace.. twitter.. orkut... E-mails have become more formal among friends unless there is really something very personal intended or some attachments... Replying to emails has been very boring .. the reverse side on the same with social networking is we jump-into to reply on or to follow up someone else's thread...

My E-mails started way back 11years from now.. Hunting down friends list and sending mails were mundane.. Days have changed.. Pick someone from ur SNS profiles and poke them.. I feel its so easy.. I feel its fun.. I feel its no more a closed set and its more friendly...

So.. what makes one change to these!!! Ultimately, Will E-mails survive only in the corporate world???
I have no answers for these.. Time would make me aware in the years to come.. If you've got something.. comment down..

It all started 2 years back...It was a tiresome day though it was a friday evening.. awaiting for a resting weekend.. There were a lot of confusions around.. Confusion of how do we start it.. How do we achieve it.. It was not even a week old.. In-fact as old as i ever knew it... Android was just born...No-one knew what it was.. May be it was somewhere around .... I used to Bet around of Android with my friends.. Bet on its Success.... Ever since i ever knew it.. i always loved it... There are many reasons from Day1 for Android being very special and close to my heart...Today. I feel so happy to see it rocking around the mobile world....

Samsung Bada

Samsung Bada!!!! Whats this!!! Interesting.. Bada in korean Means Ocean!!! and Whats this!!! Well.. Its the latest New Mobile Platform what Samsung Mobile is bringing up in the mobile arena.. It contends to be at par with the iPhone..Symbian...Android platforms.. It is definitely a good news for the developers especially opensource developers as Samsung is planning to keep the platform more open and easily accessible.. Then.. Whats the Bad news!!Intesting questions.. Well..Its at the costs of Symbian.. Sources says Samsung is planning to stop supporting Symbian by the end of 2010 though they plan to continue with their Windows Mobile and going forward increasing their smartphone segment powered by Android to 30%.. Where is Samsung heading to???

Bada is supposed to give users rich smartphone experience.. Come this December 2009 ,we will have more updates once the Bada platform is launched ...Edge for samsung would be is its a OEM and this might bring down the costs of handsets and delivering unique products .

With a Bunchfull of new platforms like Bada.. Maemo..Android.. iPhone.. Experience of the end users is definetly going to benefit a lott.. Its not about who wins.. as its going to be a Win-Win situation for the opensource developers.. Make money in all...Hope so this diversification is going to keep the mobile experience by not facing the monopoly threat unlike the desktop computers...

Nokia Dev Con

Pretty much excited about the Nokia Dev Con to be held on Dec 7 in bangalore.. I'm sure Nokia's got some great plan and a strong roadmap ahead.Well.. Maemo seems interesting to me. Many reasons for the same.. Most important being a linux based system.. UI seems real challenging and might give a threat to the proprietary multitouch. Till now what i have found is its better than the native symbian based ones.. Well.. again.. what i see is just a simulation and just waiting to see them in action sooner.. In a way.. In-fact in all ways.. Its good for the open-source developers.. At-least its always better to do such than making a closed network like the Windows Mobile.. I see this is a great revolution been coming into the Mobile world.. Who loses the battle is a Big question.. What i feel is the survival of this tide would be iPhone OS.. Android.. Symbian.... i really dnt understand how i fit in Blackberry and Palm Web OS.. Windows has lost its charm... Will have more updates once i attend the "Nokia Developer Conference" to be held...

The Rise Of Android

The Growth of Android seems to be unstoppable. With its growing number of users and the opensource developer group, the day is not far when anyone's first choice would be Android. iPhone has shown the way for a need of a phone which had something other than performing the ground task of calling. But limitations.. Three versions of iPhone and not much of upgradations.. The maturity since its launch has remained the same since its launch(apart from a 2g to 3g phone). It was really disappointing this times Apple's WWDC ,there was no major announcement regards to the iPhone..

On the other hand.. look at Android.. Just an year old.. Feature Rich and Growing .. Seems even sky is not the limit of Android.. Handset Manufactureres choice of the day today.. (Of-course Nokia is not and I'm happy about it.. Its always good to have some nake-sake rivals who were giants once upon a time)... The year ahead is the year which is going to experience the power of Android.. With a dozen launches from Motorola.. Half a Dozen from LG.. a couple of Sony...samsung..Kyocera....Haeir.. Acer.. Dell...Asus...Qualcomm..Phillips... Huawei..Lenovo..Toshiba. Barnes & Noble..aa Ohhh.. How can i forget HTC.. which is shifting from its hardcore Windows Mobile business towards Android ... with their lines of Handsets..They are the Giant...

Motorola has had a tough time for the last several quarters...Its been under continuous loss.... One major citation what i feel about Motorola is.. they have always had the best hardwares manufactures.. They have one of the best processes defined in their Organization.. They have one of the best talented employees .. Motorazr was Successful.. But then after that!!!!What went wrong they have been just losers in the market!!! Was that the luxury of Motorola to launch Windows devices instead innovating one ??? Or the the wrong eye perception!!! I remember the day an year back when it decided to scrap all their windows production and go boldly ahead with Android.. And i strongly feel the decision could bhave been ever best to save Motorola from getting buried away ... Today.. Though its still not yet started making out of Android as its not yet out in market for sale.. look at the deals with Verizon!!! T-Mobile.. Its back in the limelight...

Nokia.. Its very interesting to see to stay away from Android.. Its surely not about the scariness that "One Trial phone and may not work out".. Nokia declined on statements for supporting a linux based mobile sets.. Then What blunder is Nokia Maemo....Is that the reason Nokia is not promoting much??? Trying out some copy on the same linux version...Its like to stay single everyone mingles.. But i still smell Android becoming the Transit point for every mobile device manufacturer.. And hope so One day Nokia passes via this transit point...

The power of Opensource in Mobile.. This is first of its kind...

Snow Leopard- the Beginning

First hands on in Snow Leopard- the new operating system for the  Macs by Apple.. I can say one thing.. Apple knows very well what needs to be  delivered and what the user needs it. Excellent performance improvement over the Leopard ...I really couldn't believe   the boot up speed and shutdown(shutdown within 3seconds in-spite so many apps open)...
I'm just in the beginning of hands on on  Snow Leopard... and everytime i get on to it.. i find something faster.. in-fact speed.. performance has been extended very well..
Apart from this.. Apple has not worked on any new projects for this release.. Good for me.. as I still love the Leopard feel..(Changes always is not good either unless there is a revolution....)

Well... Apart from all these.. what wondered me was the QuickTime Player.. This time, finally apple has shipped the QuickTime Pro for free to all the users// hmm. QuickTime Pro... Great Software...Any doubt!!!!!

Technically.. while i was going through of the re-design factors in snowleopard, major changes from the ground level.. Less coding.. less code... After installing the OS, i regained 7GB of Hard Drive space.(worth for the money what i paid to my OS)The OS is very light weight.. Finder ha been re-written again ... but first time ever in native cocoa...

More updates later on these....

Still Waiting for Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard is the latest Operating system by Apple which is released for the Macs..It was launched in the end of august in US but till now its not released in india :-( .. Im badly waiting for it when would that be launched...
Well..With the new introduction of Snow Leopard.. Apple has for sure proved one thing.. They are great when it comes to bringing something entirely new with the biggest surprise(like iPhone) or be it revolutionasing the same old thing in a different way...the Snow Leopard way.. No changes at all with respect to Leopard.. Then why a new operating system!!! Wondering!!!Well Here it goes.. Apple has redefined the new OS completely concentrating on the performance issue rather than introducing any new features... Now.. whats this performance.. I got a Leopard.. I call that a beast.. then how do i imagine how the macho beast would be.. Well.. To experience.. I need Snow Leopard... Its review has been excellent.. so i dnt wanna wrte aout it till i get to trt with one copy......
