Break even for Diesel Cars vs petrol cars

Well.. Petrol on the verge of hitting a century.. Many have already started moving towards the diesel cars.... There was a time when Diesel engines were considered to be of type trucky...  not jus about the size of the cars which were available but also the NOISE it creates... Today.. With the introduction of CRDi engines, not only the noise is drastically reduced but also the mileage is improved.. On an average, diesel cars give 20%more mileage than petrol.. Some cons still. ? Yet its not as smooth as petrol engines as even they enjoyed the technological promotions.. And of-course pick-up.. Petrol is Petrol..

Well.. Lemme dive into whats in my mind to write this blog...The Break Even....

Well....some facts as of today below on which my analysis is all about..
 1. Today, petrol price is 76 and diesel is 52.. Petrol being Rs24 costlier..
 2.  Diesel cars are expensive ....around 1. 3 lak on a average...
 3.  diesel cars have 25 % more mileage than petrol cars, eg,  petrol 15km.. Diesel 20km per litre.
4. Average car loan interest rate 13%

Now what is the BREAK EVEN... ok. break even time is the time i m referring is the time from when diesel cars would start fetching u more profit on your ROI. :-):-):-):-):-)
After watching a couple of experts views from the motors sectors.. Understood.. For a average user driving 1000km in a month , the break even time he/she starts beni fitting is  in about 4.5years...

I tried best to calculate how it works... Found the below analysis...assuming above assumptions figures hold good for this period....


In 54 months,
distance travelled :1000*54 = 54000 km
money spent on petrol In: 54000*76/15 = Rs 273600
money spent on diesel : 54000*52/20 = Rs 140400

Since diesel cars are around Rs 1,30,000 already expensive on purchase, adding that costs as well...makes diesel stand at Rs 2,70,000.

Plus Minus equals Zero... So diesel stands profitable right after 4.5years.....

Hold on ....hold... If at all say u had been purchasing car on Emi, then the above promotions which almost everyone in market is talking about holds Wrong...

Let me explain... You would actually be paying interest for this 1.4ak additional bore u incurred during buying. assuming loan at 13%interest for 4 years.. U would be in total paying Rs175200 from your pocket instead  Rs1,40,000 I.e with interest.  Now.. Since this is paid from your pocket.. It seems always your earned money as and when u paid... Paid from pocket.. Earned money... I m actually talking about if this money of Rs3650 if invested in recurring deposit on an ave of 8.5%...you would have wealth of Rs2,09,013.

In short  1.4 lake proves to be around 2.1lake proves...Around Rs70,000 more.
Now.. Which also means if u have petrol car, u can add this to your price... So... This also means u can drive for another 14 more months... Means break even is more than 6 years instead of 4.5 years....


In case if u drive for say around 500km in a month.. Then this break even would be in,ore than 13years...

I may be wrong in my analysis... Please do comment....

Was a little disappointed with the bloggers capabilities on the mobility platform... I actually still wonder the capabilities which has not matured enough.. Expectations are always higher when its Google and expectations are even more higher when i expect out of it...

Well.. What am i talking about actually???? ok.. Let me again get you back to square 1... I had packed my bags a while ago to leave to wordpress ... A standing reason.. lack of mobile platforms here.... There was a two way inconvenience... time factor makes me rely my personal stuff on my Android ... Where thereby a lack of any mobility inputs made ne refrain.. Well.. Bow there is an app... I would say its great finally Google finally abduction finally were able to enervate their developers to make one... And i m trying the same through the blog... The second inconvenience.. Its still been a problem persisting.. Over the time,my readers ve states the i & A. platforms vividly... And its a real inconvenience browsing full web ondevice .... I just hope its too solved.... Well. why back to square 1... Its not just the Android app ... i personally felt a unified exp which could be more easily tied through the blogger than any others.. Well.. Would try best to publish a few morein the coming days....

Connecting Aircel GPRS to your Mac is so easy.
My config i use is as follows:
1. Android Phone
2. Mac Snow Leopard OS.

1. Connect your Android Phone to Mac via USB Cable
2. Connected mode in USB is notified in the Phone.
3. Go to Mac, System preference -> Network
4. On the left pane, you can see your phone modem listed
5. Select the phone modem
6. In the right side, you would find the following fields. Feed in these details
7. telephone Number : *99***1# , account name and password -> Blank
8. Click Advanced, In the first Tab, select your modem, type as GSM/GPRS and in APN type : *99***1# and click OK
9. Click Apply and Connect.
10. Your connection would get connected and you can start browsing.

Android absorption into Windows Phone 7

Its not surprising though for me but more of shocking... Yet the shock pulsing my nerves is energizing... Its about the Windows Phone 7 inter interoperability feature with Android APi's. Now , what is this ??? Well.. If you could guess... Its good.. Yet.. I would give a short over view right here.. It is all about consuming the Android Api's into the Windows Phone 7 and developing an app. One way to start positive is Microsoft all its starting from Gingerbread specific Api's. Its almost in the beginning. Now, how the ecosystem of developers and consumers are going to be benifitted?? time to market a WP7 app would be shorter.. Developers need not undergo learning a stressful new set of platform specific APi's and of-course, you get a solid build in libraries developed by Google which need not be re-invented by Windows..

something quite similar though not exactly is what i heard Blackberry trying out to get the existing Android apps ported into BB devices.. Lets see how far we see this adoption.. For me, i see a bright horizon though.

something out of all

Like there are a maximum of 366 days in an year, some dates gets blocked and some gets locked. This day also has its own reasonS for getting into both.. Though untold.. A few years back... May be forever for me as ...

Yesterday happened to be my first surgery of my life.. It was painful.. Though it was called off as a minor one.. For me.. It was like spending about 90 odd minutes...Ufffffff.. Ok...ok... U might stop getting more serious as it was a dental surgery.. Only a few around knows the kind of problems i had faced in the last couple of months.. The symptoms.... Vague.. Remote.. Undetectable....Yet the ultimateness connected.. Again.. Its 9th June today.. Somewhere there are always good chunks of these lucky dates repeating as the good omens on top of my head.... I really feel a lottttt better than ever in the last couple of months i had been....Though post surgery, i just carry the tooth pain anymore which should get ok just in a few days...

After a long time i had got chance to blog something.. I was in a dicey state for many days to move onto wordpress but still on thoughts.. Ultimately, decided to be home as my content would remain anyways same...

Galaxy S rocks.. Gingerbread really made it slippery.. I just love its smoothness than ever in any device... New house has been good as per how i had ever thought it to be..
